The painted one is twenty-five streets of houses in every colour somebody had: pink, orange and blue walls along narrow streets, balconies, worn render, hills at the end of the road. The colour does something practical as well as pretty. Every street looks different, so a visitor can orient themselves by memory instead of by a floor plan, and that makes it the easiest outdoor set here to build a navigable tour from.

The medieval one comes attached to its castle, which is the point of it. Cobbled approaches, the buildings that sit against the walls, the gatehouse above them. A lesson can start in the village and end in the keep as one continuous walk, because both halves were made together rather than found separately.
